About Tanya:

Tanya Visceglia obtained her doctoral degree from the City University of New York. Tanya in her own words: “Originally from New York City, I bring fifteen years of teaching experience and academic research in languages and Linguistics to my work at Easy A. Supported by a grant from the U.S. National Science Foundation, I first came to Taiwan to conduct my dissertation research at the Graduate Institute of Linguistics of National Taiwan University, the results of which were published in Interfaces in Multilingualism, Conxita Lleo, Ed. Amsterdam: John Benjamins (2006). After completing my PhD in Linguistics at the City University of New York in 2007, I taught Linguistics, presentation skills and academic writing for ten years: at Wenzao Ursuline University (2005-2008), Ming Chuan University (2008-2012) and National Yang Ming University (2012-2015). In collaboration with Graduate Institute for Phonetics at Academia Sinica, I also designed, collected and analyzed a speech corpus of Taiwan L2 English. In 2015, I began teaching Business English, TOEFL and IELTS preparation to private students and in corporate settings. The language acquisition process has always fascinated me, and I feel lucky to have the opportunity to share my love of language and knowledge of language systems with students.”
